"Nothing makes us happier than Cedric playing the Hall," director Rachel Dangermond said. "When Cedric is here, the Hall comes alive with Hill Country L.O.V.E. Cedric Burnside is the very definition of Hill Country Blues."

The blues is music for all epochs, and Hill Country blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter Cedric Burnside is widely heralded as an exemplar of the genre’s timeless prescience about American life. Spanning three decades, Burnside’s work holds the legacy and future of North Mississippi’s sound stories, telling ancestral blues stories that honor the region’s heritage and ensure its future. These stories, monumental and everyday, at once African and American and Southern and Mississippian, document the human condition and the Black American experience, from the genre’s birthplace.

Food available for purchase from Big Boyz BBQ. Brazilians know their meat and so does Rodney!  According to Dangermond, owner Rodney Beals has never met a stranger and his “butt-master” barbecue is in Beals’ blood — he’s been at the grill since he was 11 years old. He first started serving the masses at his famed annual barbecue that happened every spring at New Orleans’ famed City Park. Though his offerings started small, as these things often do, with just family and friends, over time, word got out about Beals’ tasty meats and soon, big crowds of people were making it a point to attend the event, just to get a taste of what “the mayor” was cooking. It was then that Beals knew he was on to something special and lasting, and his passion soon became his purpose.
